You can tell from this photograph how much I love my friend Jeff.

Me and Jeff

That is why, in order to honor him, I drew a version for a white elephant present-off at his Festivus party.  The motto of the night was “The night’s not over until Jeff gets pinned!” so our friend Chris made that happen as soon as he walked in the door with an innocuous-seeming hug. Jeff was giggling so hard he never had a chance.

Wallet

I’ve finally decided to take part (in the online sense; offline, I’d already started taking part) in the Everyday Matters group. The gist is that there’s a new subject weekly, and the drawing is meant to be no-pressure, just-for-the-fun-of-it style.

My week one shoe drawing is lost to the ages and my week two lamp drawing was done surreptitiously in an acquaintance’s planner, so here’s the first one to be seen.

This is my wallet, a tiny little thing meant to keep me from carrying too much stuff. You can see underneath that it’s all about the Jacksons, baby. The MetroCard is wonky, but so is the subway system. No worries, ja?
